BRINKMAN, George "Dodie." Beloved husband of Armella A. Brinkman (nee Wissel). Devoted father of Jan (Jack) Koebbe, Maureen (Rob Rollman) Kajzer, Lisa (Patrick) Breslin and Don (Victoria) Brinkman. God's goodness is seen abundantly through the gift of his 8 grandchildren Kristen (Brad) Clark, Erin (John) Orahood, Allison (Bryan) Dettmer, Steve, Bryan and Justin Brinkman, Carter and Trevor Breslin. Special "Pawpaw Dodie" to 6 great grandchildren Owen, Greta, Mackenzie, Liam, Kaitlyn and baby girl Orahood. Survived by brother Carl "Kayo" (Nancy) Brinkman and Charlotte "Bull" Ungruhe. Also survived by sisters-in-law Dolores (Bob) Schoenhoft, Jean Wissel and Claire Wissel and a plethora of loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. Dodie went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 4, 2012 at the age of 86. He was born on March 23, 1926, in St. Bernard, OH, to William and Johanna Brinkman. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Fr. Gerard, OFM, and Joseph and sisters Helen, Marie, Emma, Shirley, Rosella and JoAnne. Resident of Carthage for 49 years. Dodie was a 66-year member of the Knights of Columbus and Past Grand Knight of St. Patrick Council #1747, 48 year member and Past President of the Hamilton County Sports Hall of Fame, member of the St. Bernard Eagles and Carthage Seniors. He retired from Meyer Dairy after 33 years as a milkman. Visitation at Hodapp Funeral Home, 7401 Vine St., Carthage, Monday 5-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. James of the Valley Church, 411 Springfield Pike, Wyoming, Tuesday 10 a.m. followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made to the Kidney Foundation or Crossroads Hospice, 4360 Glendale-Milford Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45242. A reception following the burial will be at the home of Jan and Jack Koebbe in West Chester. Condolences to hodappfuneralhome.com
