Melvin J. "Mel," age 89, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013. Beloved husband of 64 years to Mary L. Kattelman (nee McBride). Devoted father of Barbara D. and Dr. Melvin "Mel" J.Kattelman. Father-in-law of Jeri T. Kattelman. Grandfather of Dr. Jonathan R. Kattelman and wife Kate. He was employed for 42 years at National Distillers & Chemical Corp., Cincinnati Division. He served in a combat unit of the US Army during WW II in Europe, took part in 6 major battles and 2 invasions and was a survivor of Anzio Beachhead. Visitation at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Ave., College Hill, Monday from 12 noon until funeral service at 1 p.m., followed immediately by graveside service with military honors at Oak Hill Cemetery, Glendale, OH. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Healthy or Hospice of Cincinnati.
