Robert S. Russell
June 24, 1986 – May 21, 2019
Rob (a.k.a., Bobby) passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 21st while in Indiana on business. Just shy of his 33rd birthday, Rob suffered a massive heart attack as a result of an undiagnosed congenital heart condition.
Rob graduated from Northwest High School in 2004. After graduating from Ohio University in 2009, he spent four years in Japan teaching English for the Suzuka Board of Education. He then moved back to Ohio in 2013, and put his Japanese-speaking skills to good use working as a sales representative for Moriroku America in Marysville, Ohio.
Rob is survived by his parents, Charles and Susan; his sister, Victoria (Julie); his brother, James (Nina); his niece, Ellie; uncles and aunts (John & Linda Clancy; Greg & Pam Faessler); first-cousins (Laurie, Mike, Andrea, Elaine, and Joel); cat (Sherman); extended family; and many friends and co-workers.
Rob loved traveling, playing guitar and drums, and brewing beer. He enjoyed working out in the gym and, while in Japan, earned a 1st degree brown belt in martial arts. Rob was also an avid gamer, a trivia whiz, and Ellie’s “funcle” (fun + uncle). He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church (12191 Mill Rd, Cincinnati), with a mass of Christian burial at 1:00 p.m., followed by entombment at Crown Hill Memorial Park & Mausoleum (11825 Pippin Rd, Cincinnati).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
