BURKS, Abe, husband of the late Clara Marie Burks (nee Woebkenberg), dear father of Ellen (Edward) Ryan, Douglas (Carol) Burks, Steven (Gail) Burks, Karen Burks and Deborah Burks, also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, brother of the late Margurette Helmich, Paul Burks and Lawrence Burks, Jr. Member of St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Boy Scouts of America.  Passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at age 89.  Visitation will take place at Hodapp Funeral Home 7401 Vine St., Carthage, Friday from 5pm until 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. James of the Valley Church, 411 Springfield Pike, Wyoming, Saturday at 10am.  Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. James Church, Wyoming.  Condolences at hodappfuneralhome.com
