Born in Elmwood Place of loving parents, Alex and Ida (Handscheigl) Miller.
Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Josephine (Carraher) Miller and
his only child, Elizabeth Theresa Miller Ewing (Richard).
He was the last of his generation, outliving brothers Forrest and John (Florence),
and sisters Victoria (Earl) Domis, Mary (George) Halloran, Rosella (William)
Woerman, and Theresa who died at age 3.
He is survived by many nephews and nieces and friends.
Al never met a stranger. Everyone he met loved him.
He gallantly served in the United States Navy in the Pacific arena during WWll.
After the end of the war he came back to Cincinnati and worked at Nutone for 30
years, where he became the Art Director in the Advertising Department.
While at Nutone, he attended evening college at the UC College of Fine Arts.
While taking classes he met Helen Browning who became a lifelong friend.
He studied under the late Reginald L. Grooms and joined the membership of the
group “Le Cercle”. Al’s work is primarily in water color, oils and charcoals. His
work is in several private collections throughout the United States.

He will be laid to rest with his wife at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
