Alfred W. Schwarzwalder

SCHWARZWALDER, Alfred W., beloved husband of 68 years to Rosemary (nee Simpson), dear father of Allen L. (Mari Lee) Schwarzwalder and Betty (Bill) Gadberry, grandfather of Gina (Willie) Hill, Melina (Bob) Siler and Misty (Gary) Sweet, great grandfather of Solomon, Shelby Isabella and Jaxson Allen. Friday, April 24, 2009, age 93. Visitation at Hodapp Funeral Home, 7401 Vine St., Carthage Monday from 6PM to 8PM. Funeral service will be 10 AM at Hartwell Presbyterian Church, Parkway and Woodbine. Mr. Schwarzwalder was a volunteer at Drake Hospital for 40 years, served in WW II on the USS Mayo and was a member of Guth Bros American Legion Post. He also was an incredible athlete and played for the Cincinnati Reds baseball farm team in the 1930’s In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hartwell Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Cincinnati.
