Arthur "Art" Elwood Jones

Arthur “Art” Elwood Jones, 73, West Chester, Ohio died Monday October 21, 2013 at his home. He was born July 17, 1940 to Elwood and Viola Jones in Cincinnati, OH. He went to Cincinnati Police Academy and worked for the city of Cincinnati for 29 years. He married Donna Thompson on October 19, 1963. They had two daughters together. He later married Judy May on August 8, 1975. After becoming a charter boat captain, he moved to Catawba Island in Port Clinton, Ohio for 8 years. Art loved running fishing charters on Lake Erie for 25 years. He spent the last years of his life in West Chester, Ohio. He is survived by his wife; daughters Michelle (Christian)Turner and Holly (Ernest) Stahl, both of California, Kentucky; step-son David May of West Chester,Ohio; five grandchildren – Katherine, Faith, Ella, Grant, and Zack; mother Viola Schilling of Greenwood, Indiana; brother Daniel Jones of Sebastian, Florida; sister Linda Redmon of Greenwood, Indiana; and brother Kenneth Jones of Vero Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna (2007) and father Elwood (1972). Visitation will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd., Liberty Twp.,45044 on Friday, October 25, 2013, from 4 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6 p.m. Memorials may be directed to The Alzheimer’s Association, 644 Linn St., Cincinnati, OH 45203.
