Aubrey Ray Hadley

Aubrey Ray Hadley, 98 formerly from Evendale, Ohio passed away on March 18, 2021 after a short illness related to a fall. Aubrey was born June 19, 1922 in Gilpin, Kentucky to the late Willie E. and Patria May (Watson) Hadley. Aubrey preferred to be called Hadley since many people mistakenly called him Audrey. He volunteered as a paratrooper and served in the US Army from 1944 to 1946. He was in the 713th Airborne Ordinance Maintenance Company in Rhineland and Central Europe, receiving several ribbons and 2 Bronze Stars. Prior to his discharge he was given the option of an increase in rank or a furlough somewhere in Europe. He chose the furlough and with an army buddy went to Edinburgh, Scotland where he had his picture taken wearing the full kilt regalia. Hadley tried several occupations until he settled on plumbing. He served as an Apprentice, Journeyman and after being certified as a Master plumber opened his own business. Hadley Plumbing serviced many homes in the valley. He served as President of the Cincinnati Master Plumbers Association in 1967; and, received the Herbert J. Vonderheide award in 1993. Retiring from plumbing, Hadley owned and operated the Woodlawn Pony Keg for several years. He relocated to Florida in 2012 and enjoyed the sun, fishing and sitting on his lanai. Hadley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Emma Mae Hadley; his sister Margie French (Paul); his brothers Roscoe Brown (Shirley); Louis Brown (Juanita); his daughter Linda Hadley Coyan (survived by Patrick); his grandson Troy Hadley; his nieces Carol Baumgarten, Kathleen Brown; and, nephew Robert Brown, and many cousins. Survivors include his daughter and son Donna and Ray Hadley; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five nieces and four cousins.  Hadley was a member of the Carthage Church of the Nazarene since 2008. A private funeral was held at Rose Hill Cemetery, where he was laid to rest next to his wife Emma Mae.
