Barbara was a very private person, caring for those close to her. The best Aunt but did not wany anyone to do things for her. It was in her nature to always care for people. Barbara grew up with two sisters, Sandi and Pam, and her two brothers, Rick and Bob. She grew up in Hyde Park, attending St. Mary’s grade school and Marian High School.
Barbara met her husband Don at a motorcycle race in Harrison, OH. Quickly becoming friends and eventually falling in love.Barbara and Don were married on April 2, 1977, at St. Mary’s Church in Hyde Park. She never had children during the 46 years of marriage, but her sisters, brothers, nieces, and her nephews were her beloved family and would do anything for Barbara.
Barbara worked for River Marine Insurance Company for a total of 33 years, entering as a receptionist and ending her insurance career as an underwriter, when the Cincinnati branch of the company closed. Afterword Barbara chose a new career, joining Northeast Cincinnati Pediatrics as a receptionist, where she remained for the next 10 years, until retirement.
Barbara enjoyed camping, and hiking in the Smokey Mountains, as well as long walks on the beaches of Hilton Head, South Carolina. Barbara also had a passion for gardening, she would always plant her flowers around the house for everyone to enjoy all summer. Barbara was also a talented interior decorator, decorating the interiors of many of her family members houses.
Faith was very important to Barbara, she prayed the rosary every morning, once she found out she had stage 4 cancer. Barbara was a kind, caring and faithful person, she showed this throughout her life with the interactions she had with other people.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held privately with the family at The Community of the good Shepherd Church. Burial followed, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
