Barbara was a practicing nurse for over thirty years. She worked in a variety of specialties including labor and delivery, general hospital floor nursing, same day surgery, doctor’s office settings and volunteering with hospice.
Barbara had an artistic eye that could be seen in many ways. She spent countless hours making and maintaining her outdoor gardens, these included koi ponds and her iris and daylily flower beds. She was frequently creating things like pottery, stained glass artwork and cooking excellent food. Barbara also had a passion for songbirds and she kept numerous bird feeders throughout her gardens; she had a particular affinity for hummingbirds.
Over the years with her husband Steve, they enjoyed doing many activities together, including traveling, cross-country skiing, camping, kayaking, fishing and hunting. It was a well known fact that Barbara was the best shot in the family.
