Barbara A. Rechel, (nee Fullam) beloved wife of Donald C. Rechel for 65 years, mother to Jim (Sally), Dave (Pam) and Tom Rechel, passed away on January 14 surrounded by family. She was born in Chattanooga, TN, the daughter of the late Frank and Annie Fullam (nee Eaves).
Barbara is survived by her younger sister Carolyn Trotta (Ray) and was preceded in death by her siblings Margaret Ryon (Ed), Raymond (Delma), and Francis “Sonny” (Barbara).
She was the loving grandmother to Maggie (Coreland Phillips), Georgia Rechel, Leigh Ann and Taylor Rechel, Ben Rechel, and great grandmother to Eliza Rechel. She loved her extended family, which included numerous nieces and nephews.
As a child, she was given the nickname “Patsy”, after the “Patsy Ann Doll”, a popular doll when she was a child. Her father thought she had a resemblance to the doll and began using the nickname “Patsy”. Most longtime friends know her as Patsy, with no knowledge of her actual name.
