Betty Henize

Betty Jane (Sockman) Henize of Mason, Ohio, passed away on September 30, 2022 at the age of 98.  Betty was born on June 21, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is preceded in death by beloved husband Charles F. Henize, son James F. Henize, sister Patricia Honnert, and brother James Sockman. Survived by her dear sister Sylvia Kessler.  Loving mother to Christopher (Mary) Henize, Elaine (David) Hartkemeyer, Victoria (Jim Sermersheim) Henize, and loving grandmother and great grandmother to Andrew, Ethan, and Michelle, and Charles.

Betty was a member of Christ’s Church in Mason. Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life and she raised her children based on that strong belief. Betty was active in her church and was involved in teaching young children about God’s love for them.

Betty’s life of generosity was a living demonstration of Christ love for others. She supported many charities with prayers and resources including the National Association for Down Syndrome.
