Betty Smith

Betty June Spaw Barber Smith, 92, went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2024 in Mason, OH. She was born on June 9, 1931 in Mintonville, KY to Gertie and Herschel Spaw. She had 12 siblings, all of whom she loved dearly.

She was a dedicated friend, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a world class secret keeper, advice giver, rememberer of birthdays, and shameless giver of third helpings.  She was a bottomless well of support, steady as oak and unwavering. Her love was the kind you never questioned and she never met a person she couldn’t love. She was an example to us all. 

She is survived by by two dedicated sons, David and Joel (Linda) Barber; a wonderful step-son, David (Frances) Smith; five adoring grandchildren, Robin (Matt) Meglio, Allison Barber, Carlie (Pete Kapp) Barber, Holly (Ryan) Shapiro, and Jordan Smith; and six spoiled great grandchildren, Damien Duvelius, Grant and Elijah Meglio, Titus Barber, and Eva and Fox Shapiro. 

She was a devoted member of the Serenity Baptist Church in West Chester, OH. It was well with her soul.

Services to be held Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Serenity Baptist Church, 9000 Cox Road, West Chester, OH 45069. Family Visitation from 9:30-10:00, open visitation from 10:00-11:00, funeral services at 11:00. Burial immediately following at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Blue Ash.
