Bonnie K Bishop

Bonita “Bonnie” K. Bishop, age 77, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

Born on June 3, 1947, in Cincinnati to John Bedford Bishop and Gertrude Dolores Bishop, Bonnie cherished her childhood adventures, especially the time she spent with her beloved grandparents, Walter and Florence Bishop and Gertrude and Harry Steinwart. She often shared fond stories of joyful moments in Florida, painting a picture of a life filled with curiosity and love from an early age.

Bonnie was a dedicated educator and lifelong learner. A graduate of Indian Hill High School, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky and pursued further studies at Xavier University. She began her career as a first-grade teacher at Goshen Schools and rose through the ranks to become an elementary principal and later, an assistant superintendent—roles she was deeply proud of and loved to talk about. Bonnie’s passion for education was contagious; she inspired generations of students and colleagues with her warmth, knowledge, and tireless dedication.

Bonnie’s interests were as vibrant as her spirit—she loved history, antiquing, reading, and researching. Her faith and her friendships were pillars of her life, and time with her family was always her greatest joy.

She is survived by her children, Cary (Lorie) Bishop and Aunjaleis (Jason) Bishop-Baldwin; her four grandchildren, Corwin Bishop, Harrison Bishop, Wilder Bishop, and Brandt Baldwin; her brother, Bruce Bishop; and her beloved dog, Kenzie. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on April 23, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd., Liberty Township, Ohio 45044. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246.
