Brendan Korte

April 13, 1938 — March 21, 2024

Cincinnati, OH

Korte, Brendan Tallen, also known as Butch, but you may call him "Chuckie." Devoted husband of 53 years to Martha Korte (nee Hodapp); loving father of Gregory (Lisa) Korte, Matthew Korte and Sarah Korte (Rusty) Martin; proud pawpaw of Eleanor Korte, Alerie, Bodie and Grace Martin; dear brother of Daria (the late Fred) Luebbe; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by parents Herman and Cecelia Korte (nee Tallen); sisters Margaret Cook and Hilary Manley; and brothers Justin, Kenneth, Quentin and Rainer Korte.

Born to eternal life Thursday, March 21, 2024. Age 85 years, four Reds World Championships and 42 Ohio State wins over Michigan. Intensely competitive, he was the winner of numerous Happy Hazzard and Boyz of Summer tennis titles, the all-time champeen of Activision's "The Dreadnaught Factor," and a hole in one at Hartwell C.C. Went down to ignominious defeat in hundreds of chess matches and ping-pong tournaments with grandchildren. Coiner of many dadisms, including "auspicacity," "re-novator" and/or "Kentucky gofasters." Composer of moon songs. Proud graduate of St. Catharine Elementary School and Elder High School. Committed member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Clare Parish.

Loyal, loving, generous and stalwart, he was a decent person with a wonderful sense of humor and a constant source of love to his family. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of this good man.

Friends are welcome to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clare Catholic Church, 1443 Cedar Avenue, College Hill, Cincinnati, Ohio 45224 on Monday, March 25 at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the church undercroft. Private burial at Spring Grove Cemetery.

We were honored with the loving care that Brendan received from Alois Alzheimer Center and Hospice of Southwest Ohio. Their understanding of the disease was so very impressive and comforting.

Memorials may be made to the St. Clare St. Vincent de Paul Society or the Alois Alzheimer Foundation, 70 Damon Road, Greenhills, Ohio 45218.

Condolences may be made at hodappfuneralhome.com.

“Loving you is all we do.”
