Brian Lee Wesner, 77, of Monroe, OH passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the Mt. Pleasant Health Center in Monroe. The 1964 graduate of Sullivan High School was born March 3, 1946 to Lawrence Lester “Shy” Wesner and Helena Margaret Huff. Brian attended Sam’s Technical Institute, earning an associate degree. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1967, served in the Vietnam conflict, achieved the rank of Sgt E-5, received an honorable discharge in 1969 and was awarded the Purple Heart. On June 14, 1970, he married his lifelong friend, Constance Louise “Connie Lou” Johnson of Merom. Brian enrolled at Purdue University Indianapolis and in 1982, earned a BSEET degree. Brian worked for Bunker-Ramo Electronics, Regency Electronics, and Harman-Motive Audio. Brian enjoyed his kids and grandkids, fishing, wood working, music, Indy Car Racing, and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shy and Helena, and stepfather Leon Gannac.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Connie, and two sons: John Christopher “Chris” Wesner, his wife, Kerry, and grandchildren Annie, Emma, Isaac, Ava, and Eli; and David Cenial Wesner, his wife, Kyra, and grandchildren Zachary, Caleb, and Anna. Two brothers, Darrell Edward Wesner (wife Nancy) of Sullivan, Indiana and Ronald Allen Wesner (wife Evelyn) of Brazil, Indiana.
Services will be held at the Monroe United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Monday, February 5. Visitation begins at 10 a.m., Memorial Service at 11 a.m. with lunch following.
