C. Daniel Wheeler

C. Daniel Wheeler of Cincinnati, formerly Centerville, Ohio passed away at the age of 79 on March 18, 2015.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Wheeler, his two sons, Daniel (Marion) Wheeler, Doug Wheeler and his daughter, Denise (Irwin) Scheineson.  Grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Brother of Mary Sthlmiller and Georgean Turner. He is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Long, and his father, Clarence Wheeler.  A 1956 Stivers High School graduate, Dan was inducted in 2011 into the Stivers High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his participation in football, basketball and track.  Following high school, he continued playing both football and basketball at Chattanooga University, and in 1958 joined the Dayton Police Department where he worked for 7 years.  Dan then partnered in a property and casualty insurance business located in Centerville, Ohio and finally retired from Dayton Power & Light in 1998.  Visitation will be held at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 6410 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd., Liberty Twp., Saturday, March 21 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Association.
