Carl Donald Larson

LARSON, Carl Donald, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at age 91. He was born in Cincinnati, OH on January 14, 1924. Don served in the Army in World War ll and graduated from University of Cincinnati. He was retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield-Anthem. Don was an avid sportsman his whole life, especially as a golfer in later years, and was an active resident at Evergreen Retirement. Don was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Ruth Jean (nee Dumford) Larson; his brother, George B. Larson; his daughter-in-law, Brenda McDonald Larson; and his blessed wife, Norma Etherington. Don is survived by his sister, Charlotte Springmyer, and by his dear friend, Jonell Stanford. He was a devoted father to Becky Larson (Bob) Kukla of Columbia, SC, Don (Lynn) Larson of Cincinnati, OH, and Greg Larson (Rick Meyer) of Sarasota, FL. He was a proud grandfather of Dale (Moira) Kukla, Amy Kukla (Willie) Fowlkes, Sally Kukla (Ian) Wilson, Kelly, Lizzy, and Matt Larson, Claire and George Larson. Don was a loving great-grandfather to Emma, Micah, Ethan, and Lucy Kukla, Ruth and Elise Wilson, and Naomi Fowlkes. Don was an inspiration to countless individuals for his love of life, up-beat outlook, and constant smile. He extended his hand in friendship to everyone he met. A Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Friendship United Methodist Church, 1025 Springfield Pike, Wyoming, OH on Friday, December 18. Visitation is from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UC Foundation, c/o The University of Cincinnati Athletic Department - Basketball Program, 2751 O'Varsity Way, Cincinnati, OH 45221.
