CONWAY, Carl E. Cincinnati Actor/Entertainer since he was 18 years old. Career spanned over 60 years. Studied at Rosedale’s, Conservatory of Music and Schuester Martins. Sang with Doris Day at Ault Park. Was Master of Ceremonies at Beverly Hills Supper Club, Latin Quarter, Lookout House and Glen Rendezvous in the 40’s. Also played the Copa Cabana in Miami Florida and the Henry Grady Hotel, “Paradise Room”, in Atlanta. Carl finally landed in New York and became one of their top 10 models. Sang and tapped danced in two Broadway Shows. “Texas Lil Darlin” and “All For Love”. He was cop in the Detective Series “Naked City” with Paul Burke. Also appeared on TV with Jimmy Durante, Faye Emerson, Ed Wynn, and Polly Bergan. Played the “Lotus Room” with Mickey Rooney and was the Marlboro Man on the Billboard over Times Square. Went to Europe with ZSA ZSA Gabor and the Tour Group that was managed by Barbara Walter’s Father. He was a hand model for Burt Lancaster and also Tommy Lesorda and Mike Ditka who did a Slim Fast commercial. He returned to Cincinnati 20 years ago and kept in the business by doing print work for Shillitoes/Lazarus , 5/3rd Bank or anyone else who needed a good looking older gentlemen. His journey ended on April 28th, 2009 at the age of 86. He is survived by his sister, Lucille Eiser dear friend Mary Jane Britt, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. His Best Friend, the late Fred Allocca. Brother of the late Edward (Boots) Conway, Raymond Conway, Evelyn Huber, Harry (Shake) Conway, Irene Dominique. His Loving Niece Bonnie Snyder wishes to thank all the family members, friends, neighbors and caregivers who helped him the last few years of his life. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at Arlington memorial Cemetery on Friday May 15th at 1:45.
