It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Hayner, age 84, of Liberty Township, Ohio, who passed away at home on March 20, 2025. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Above all, she was a devoted believer in Jesus Christ, leaving a rich heritage of Christian values that has shaped many generations. Known for her kindness and her beautiful smile, Carol had the ability to brighten any room she entered. Her love for others radiated from her strong foundation in Christ.
Born in Huntington, West Virginia, in 1940 to Donald and Genevieve Lyon, Carol met the love of her life, Ed, during their junior year of high school. The two were set to celebrate 65 years of marriage this June.
Carol is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ed Hayner; her three children, Dr. Chris (Denise) Hayner, Dr. Jay (Lisa) Hayner, and Amy (Greg) DePew; her four grandchildren, Samantha (Scott) Kneeland, Cameron Hayner, Ian (Emily) DePew, and Macy DePew; her two great grandchildren JJ and Abby Kneeland; her brother, David (Kathy) Lyon; and her beloved dog, Cricket.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Genevieve Lyon, her brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Darla Lyon and her sister-in-law Patty Lyon.
A funeral service to honor Carol's life will be held at Liberty Heights Church, 7904 Princeton Road, Liberty Township, Ohio on Saturday, March 29th. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with the funeral service to follow.
