Carol Sue “Susie” (Dogoli) Emery-Reams, age 65, went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, Merle on June 11, 2016. She passed away in her sleep while vacationing with family in Kissimmee, FL. She was born in Canton, OH and grew up in Tucson, AZ. She called Ohio home for over 40 years. She always wanted to move back to Arizona, and she was finally able to do that and lived the last 3 years of her life there. She was a friend to everyone she met. She loved to chat with family and friends and take walks around the neighborhood with her beloved pet, Bailey. She enjoyed craft project parties, getting together with friends to play cards and having lunch dates with her cousins and childhood friends. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren—either visiting them in Ohio, going to their soccer games, volunteering in their classrooms at school or just relaxing at home. She loved the color blue, Tinkerbell, angels and butterflies. She was the biggest fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. She could talk football all day and was so proud of her favorite team’s 6 Super Bowl rings. She was really looking forward to watching them claim #7 this upcoming season. Left to honor Sue and remember her love and kindness are Sue’s daughters Michelle Emery and Melissa (Bryon) Fry; her brothers Joseph (Liz) Dogoli and Robert “Bobby” (Twila) Dogoli; her 8 grandchildren: Kyle Allen, 23, Asia Rachelle, 20, Alexis Jamaica, 17, Kendrick Reese, 12, Michael Lee, 10, Christopher Andrew, 9, Aiden Daniel, 7, and Braden William, 7; her great-granddaughter Irelia Katherine, 3; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 8 years, Army SGT Merle Reams, her parents Rudolph Dogoli and Bernice (Dogoli) Heilig; her sister, Rudi Dogoli-Beals; her first husband William “Bill” Emery; her special Aunt Amelia “Emily” Ferguson and her little loving pet, Danika. Sue will always be remembered as kind, loving, caring and creative. She went by many names: Mom, wife, sister, Nana, Nana Sue and Susie Q to name a few. She touched so many lives and will be missed by everyone she met. Letters from her daughters: Dear Mama, Thank you so much for being the kind and generous person that I aspire to be. I will miss chatting with you on the sidewalk between our homes, volunteering with you in the kid’s classrooms, shopping for craft supplies (or shopping for nothing in particular), going to breakfast, and hearing all the stories about where you grew up. I will always watch the clouds in the sky just like you taught my boys to do and find peace in knowing you are now with loved ones watching over us. I love and miss you to infinity. Love, your daughter, Melissa Dearest Mom, I want to say a million Thank You’s for everything you have done and everything I have learned from you. I will miss all of the Random “peace sign” things that would just show up in my mailbox, talking about my kids and all their activities, and of course my favorite sport basketball and my favorite player. We all knew moving back to Arizona was your dream but every time you visited us in Ohio it was always good times and lots of laughs. You will be missed by everyone but we all know you are that angel dressed in blue in the sky watching over us and rooting on the Steelers. Love your daughter, Michelle Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 22 at 10:00 am at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd, West Chester Township, OH. The family will greet family and friends from 9:00 until the time of service. Following the service, her burial will be at Dayton National Cemetery at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Breast Cancer and Ovarian Cancer research. The family will also hold a get-together at their home in Peoria, AZ to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just chat with each other—one of the things mom always loved to do.
