Carolyn Jean Gabbard (nee Brayton)

Carolyn Jean Gabbard (nee Brayton) born July 16,1942, of Kings Mills, OH went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2016, at the age of 74. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents George and Virginia Brayton. She leaves behind her three children, Keith (Pam) Gabbard, Nanny Lovejoy, and Craig (Kathy) Gabbard. Carolyn was blessed with four grandchildren the late Devon Dixon, Keith Jr,(Patty) Gabbard, Priscilla (Andy) Hahn & Erica Rouse (Johnathan). She was maw maw to seven great grandchildren Sikya, Isaiah, Olivia, Carmine, Wyatt, Waylon, and Boone. A cherished sister to the late Nancy (Bob) Moore, George “Fred” (Loretta) Brayton, and Teresa (Dave) Melton. A dear and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and a loyal friend to many. Carolyn’s family was her pride and joy she would share her love of her family and of the Lord to all who would listen. She was a very caring and giving person, her later years have been spent helping those that lived in retirement community. She was extremely crafty and creative, if she saw it she could make it! She was never afraid to stand up for what was right or for those she loved, those who knew her best knew her to be quite the pistol, and thankfully she kept that right to the end. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Tuesday (11/22) at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd., West Chester, OH 45069, from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 12 PM.
