STROHOFER-LAMPE, Catherine “Kay” (nee Janszen), 93, of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Cincinnati, OH, died peacefully Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Her first husband, Clifford J. Strohofer, second husband, Robert J. Lampe, three brothers, W.J. “Bud” Janszen, Richard “Dick” Janszen, and Donald Janszen, and three sisters, Ruth Sieve, Marian Hodapp, and Lucille Runnebaum, preceded her in death. Kay taught elementary school at Our Lady of Victory School, and was a long-time member of St. Antoninus parish. She loved golf, and was an avid bridge and Mah Jong player. She is survived by three children, her two sons, Clifford John Strohofer, Jr. (Pat) of Macon, GA, and Henry “Hank” Strohofer, and her daughter, Sue Rachunok (Alex) all of Wilmington; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Robert Lampe, Jr. (Judy) of New Jersey, and Michael Lampe (Cheryl) of Kansas; sister-in-law, Joan Janszen; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at St. Antoninus Catholic Church, 1500 Linneman Rd., Covedale, Wednesday, March 10, 2010, from 10 a.m. until Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Old Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kay’s name may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.andrewsmortuary.com.
