Cathy Lynn French entered this world on May 28, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio, a place she would always call home. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she passed away on April 23, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, love, and humor that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.
Cathy’s career was a testament to her passion for helping others, beginning as a nurse at Bethesda North and Oak Hospitals. Her compassionate spirit and dedication to healthcare eventually drew her toward the world of information technology, where she flourished and made significant contributions over her distinguished 44 years at Tri-Health, culminating in her role as Chief Information Officer. Her commitment to excellence and innovation touched many lives and inspired those around her.
An academic achiever, Cathy earned her nursing degree from Christ Hospital, followed by a Bachelor's in Business from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master's Degree in Business Technology from Mount St. Joseph. Her educational journey was a reflection of her relentless pursuit of knowledge and self-improvement.
Cathy cherished life’s simple pleasures, finding joy in the company of her loved ones. She had a deep affection for spending time at the beach, quilting, reading, and traveling, making countless memories with her family during these precious moments. Her ability to find joy in the little things was matched only by her great sense of humor, which brought laughter and warmth to gatherings both big and small.
Cathy loved God deeply, drawing strength from her faith throughout her life, particularly in her final days. Her kindness and loving nature shone brightly, capturing the hearts of everyone she encountered.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Wayne French; her loving son, Jason French; and her beloved daughter, Jessica Lewicki, along with her son-in-law, David Lewicki. Cathy is also survived by her stepfather, Ralph Johnson, and her brother, Chris Johnson. Each of them carries with them treasured memories of Cathy’s unwavering support, her infectious laughter, and her gentle spirit.
Though her parents, Lee Johnson and Bennie Smith, have passed before her, Cathy’s legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the love she shared. The impact of her life will be felt for generations to come, as family and friends continue to hold her memory dear.
Cathy Lynn French’s spirit, kindness, and love will be sorely missed, yet celebrated every day in the hearts of those who loved her. In this time of loss, may we find solace in the beautiful memories and the enduring spirit of an extraordinary woman.
