Daniel Herb Swanson

Cincinnati, Ohio.   He battled various medical issues throughout his life but in the end, lost his battle during transplant. Daniel H. Swanson passed away on November 29th, 2022 at the age of 44, in surgery.  Despite his pain, Daniel never made excuses and made the most of his 44 years.  His friends and family always enjoyed and admired his humor, determination, curiosity, and generosity to others. 

In his younger years, Dan loved spending time with his family and friends.  Some of his favorite pastimes were spending time on the family boat, walking in the woods with his dog Jackie, gardening, biking, and doing brain puzzles.   

After graduating from Big Rapids High School in 1997, Dan enrolled at Lawrence Technical University.  From a young age, Dan was a seeker of knowledge and excelled at school.   While at Lawrence Tech Dan earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics and an Associate of Science in Chemical Technology.  Daniel worked various jobs throughout young adulthood but spent his longest and most meaningful tenure at School Outfitters where he was serving as the Vice President of Marketing. 

 Following college, Daniel moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where he met and fell in love with his wife Sarah.  Together they had two children Grayson and Cora.  Daniel was a proud Dad who absolutely loved spending time with his family.  They enjoyed making memories together while taking vacations, camping, and spending time in Northern Michigan.

Along with his beautiful family, Daniel is Survived by his grandmother Ruth Swanson, parents Dennis and Vonalea Swanson, his sister Malinda, Brother Matthew (Carolyn) Swanson, his nieces and nephew, Chloe, Quinton, and Kaia, and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Daniel’s life will be honored in a Celebration of Life on December 4, 2022 at School Outfitters, 3736 Regent Ave., Cincinnati OH 45212.  The formal service, open to anyone, will begin at 4 pm and will be followed by a reception from 5-7 pm.
