Daniel Paul Woodring

Daniel Woodring was called to his eternal home after a short hospitalization and died peacefully at home surrounded by family. 

Born in Canton, Ohio, he attended the University of Dayton where he held a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master's degree in Business Administration. During his career, he worked in management at Dayton Power and Light and upon retirement, he began his second career as a Business Consultant and Certified Life Coach. His personal mission in life was to help individuals and organizations to meet their full potential in all areas of their life. Dan used his talents to make an impact in the community as well with his work with West Chester Township community planning and growth. Also, he worked as a Chaplain at West Chester UC Hospital where he was instrumental in developing the Palliative Care team which was his passion, to make a difference in the lives of others through spiritual care. Dan's other passion was writing and he has written several books with the focus on changing lives and teaching spiritual truths. His hope was to be a light in the darkness of others and he touched all those who knew him.

He was involved as a member of many organizations over the years. And, is a member of West Chester Presbyterian Church which he delighted in attending. Dan will be profoundly missed by his family and community. 

Most important in life to Dan was being a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathryn Walter Woodring; children Annette(Chuck) Weisenseel, Mike(Katie) Woodring, Kate Woodring Johnson, Daniel Woodring and Adriane Broili Borden. He was the beloved grandfather of Jessica(Scott), Zach(Danielle), Katie(Allen), Clay, Casey, Morgan, Max, Jackson, Luella and Sienna as well as great grandchildren Lincoln, Asher, Marsden, Elias, Gwennie, Tillie and Conan.

Dan will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Sally Maierhofer and Nancy(Don) Paul and many nieces and nephews. And special friends Nate and Emma.

Dan's Celebration of Life Service will be October 19, 2024 at 11:00am at West Chester Presbyterian Church at 8930 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, West Chester OH 45069.
