Darlene Arlinghaus

It is with a heavy heart, that we announce the death of Darlene Arlinghaus, 82, of Cincinnati, Ohio. On March 7, 2024, Darlene passed away peacefully at home with her husband of 64 years, Jim, by her side, after a long, courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

In addition to her beloved husband Jim Arlinghaus, Darlene is survived by her children, Angie (Clarke) Morian and Jimmy (Yulunda) Arlinghaus; sister, Sue (Rob) Marshall; brother-in-law, Walter Taylor; grandchildren Logan (Hollie) Roberts and Clarke Morian V.

She is predeceased by her parents, Omage and Evelyn Hammond; her sisters, Charlene Taylor, Peggy Feck, Martha Cash, and brother, Allen Hammond.

Darlene lived the majority of her life in Cincinnati, although fondly remembers the 14+ years in Hamilton, MA, while raising her family, and considers it “home” as well.

Aside from her genuine kindness, loving heart, fun personality and unexpected humor, Darlene was a lifelong learner, with a wide range of interests from gardening to health & exercise to travel. She spent many years traveling the globe alongside her husband and soaked up the culture and sites of each trip. Above all, she most loved spending time with her family.

She will be dearly missed, however her contagious zest for life and legacy of kindness will flourish within all who were blessed to know her.

Special Thanks to the staff of Hospice of Cincinnati, for the love and care they provided, especially Sandy, Lori, Deb and Bob who became part of our family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Darlene to Hospice of Cincinnati

 Visitation will be Monday, March 25th, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 E. Kemper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio from 11:00 am to Noon, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
