Carl "David" Beatty, a man of unwavering kindness and cherished memories, passed away on April 23, 2025, in Beavercreek, Ohio. Born on March 31, 1950, in Shelbyville, Indiana, David lived a life filled with rich experiences, love for family, and a passion for helping others.
Dave dedicated a significant part of his career to Univar, where he retired in 2011 due to the early onset Alzheimer's. His colleagues remember him not only for his work ethic but also for his engaging personality. Dave had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone he encountered; he never met a stranger and was known for his witty remarks that could light up any gathering.
An honorable man, David served in the U.S. Army for three and a half years, stationed in Okinawa, Japan. This chapter of his life only added to the depth of his character and contributed to the many stories he shared with friends and family.
Dave cherished the time he spent with his family, creating lasting memories through joyful reunions and family gatherings. A passionate grill master and garbage pie maker, he delighted in sharing meals with loved ones. He found joy in hunting with his sons and best friends—Danny Barnthouse, Gary Emery, and Neil Duguay and his honorary son, Kyle Emery. Dave enjoyed hitting the golf course with his parents, sisters, and anyone willing to join him for a round.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Glenda Beatty, along with his sons: Brad David Beatty and C. Brett Beatty, daughter-in-law MaryJo Beatty, sisters Pat (late Jerry) Bone and Denise (Ron) Cain. Dave's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jackson David Beatty, Carl Cole Beatty, Caleb Henry Beatty, and Jacob Williams. He was also a great-grandfather to Rosie and Isabell Williams.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Linnie Beatty, as well as his in-laws, George Edward Fox and Dorothy Marie Fox. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, as well as several nieces and nephews who held him dear.
Dave was a loving husband, devoted father, and adoring grandfather, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit of generosity. His memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
