Dennis John Ruehl

Dennis John Ruehl, aged 72, passed away on October 26, 2024, in Cincinnati. Born on November 26, 1951, Dennis was known for his dedication as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Known lovingly by many nicknames, (Rolo, Muddy, Den Den, and Gramps) he leaves behind his wife, Barb, and his children, Jamie (Zack) Windle, Jena Ruehl, and Erin (Bill) Gleason. He was a proud grandfather to Zander, Liam, Ava, Graham, and Jace. Denny was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Ruth (nee Fromme) Ruehl, and his siblings Kenneth Ruehl and Nancy Kuhn.

Denny graduated from Colerain High School in 1969, after which he served his country as a Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam War, a role he carried out with pride and commitment. His continued dedication to supporting fellow veterans was highlighted as a member of the AMVETS. His professional career spanned 31 years at Procter and Gamble from which he retired in 2008, leaving a lasting impact of a strong work ethic and core values.

Denny was a man of many talents, including playing poker, golf, and gardening. He cherished spending time with his friends and family, especially his beloved grandchildren. Known for his cocktail mixing skills, Denny’s famous cosmos and thick vodkies were the highlights of many happy hours. He loved music, especially Frank Sinatra – he frequently belted New York, New York at karaoke (complete with a kick line the Rockettes would envy)!

Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Hodapp Funeral Home 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Rd. West Chester, OH 45069 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital - a meaningful way to reflect his generous heart. Denny’s legacy will undoubtedly live on through the love he shared and the memories he created. He will be missed by many.
