Dolores Francis Irvine (nee: Vaught) (1931–2024)
Dolores was most known of her love for God and family. She shared her love of faith with everyone throughout the course of her life. Many people came to know the love of Christ because of the way she lived, loved and treated everyone she came in contact with. Dolores Francis Irvine (Vaught) 93, of West Chester, OH, died of natural causes on November 1. 2024.
She was born in Dabney, KY in 1931 to Charlie & Lola Vaught, who lived a simple life raising a family that held strong faith, family & fellowship beliefs.
Dolores attended Pulaski County, KY schools before moving to Cincinnati, OH to raise her children. Dolores worked for Sears Department Stores from 1964-1971 prior to becoming pregnant with her 5th child and becoming a homemaker
Dolores Vaught met the love of her life, James E Irvine. The two were married June 26, 1949.
Dolores was passionate about her job as Clerk in Fabrics at Sears. Working for the company for 6 years, Dolores was able to share her love of needle work with many local folks.
Though Dolores loved working around the house, spending time with Christian friends, and cooking, Dolores’s favorite role was that as a grandparent. She treasured her time with the grandkids (& great grandkids) and loved being their Mamaw, never failing to give a soothing hug, lend a needed ear, offer her Godly advice or teach you the ways of southern cooking.
Dolores was an active member of Lakota Hills Baptist Church, devoting their time and energy to Worshiping, Teaching, Serving & Sharing the word of God.
Everyone who knew Dolores knew how much she loved cooking, gospel music, crafts, puzzles & gardening. Dolores was most famous for her Sunday afternoon family lunches after church for sharing the events of the week and re-setting your soul for the week ahead. Dolores’ love for family was unprecedented as she helped to shape so many lives through fellowship during her lifetime.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband James E Irvine, daughter Betty Sue Irvine & grandson Josh Irvine. She is survived by her children James Robert (Bob) Irvine, Charles (Chuck) Layton Irvine [spouse; Terri Irvine], Larry Wayne Irvine [spouse; Gaye Irvine] & Shannon Kimberly Lewis (nee: Irvine) [spouse; Gregory Lewis];Grandchildren James R Irvine (Jim Bob), Jason Irvine, Kara Irvine, Tyler Irvine, Lauren Wright, Jeremy Irvine, Reilly Brumbaugh, Sophia Lewis & Gavin Lewis; Bonus grandchildren Bobbi Lyons, Kevin Lewis, Michael Lewis; Great Grandchildren too many to count or name …
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Lakota Hills Baptist Church 6300 Tylersville Rd, West Chester Township, OH 45069 from 9:30-10:30, and the Funeral Service will follow directly at the Church from 10:30-11:30 with Burial following immediately afterwards.
