Don E. Thompson

Beloved husband of Dianna Thompson and the late Billie Thompson. Loving father of Robin (Karen Glen) Thompson, Jill (Mike) Thompson Arminio, step children Kellie (John) Yutuc, Sheryl Herzog, Chris (Rhonda) Herzog. Dear grandfather to Cameron (Kora) Arminio, Rheagan Arminio, McKinley Moen, Colton Moen, Sarah Herzog, Sydney Herzog, Lucas Herzog.   Dear great-grandfather of Elliott Moen and another on the way, Liam Christopher.  Brother of the late Tom (surviving Sandra) Thompson. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Don was a passionate shooter and was heavily involved in the Fairfield Gun Club, Indian Hill Gun Club, and Butler County Gun Club. He earned the Department of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Award for pistol and shotgun. Don spent his career working at Crosley and Avco retiring from Cincinnati Electronics after 33 years. Throughout the years he enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his son, brother, and friends, while still finding time to make many weekend family trips to Williamstown Lake. Proud Veteran as a SP5 of the Army RA SIGC. Don passed away peacefully in his home under Crossroads Hospice care on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the age 89. Graveside Service with Army Honors will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike. Cincinnati, OH 45246, on Saturday, September 23, at 10:30am. A Celebration of Life will follow at deSha’s American Tavern 11320 Montgomery Rd. Cincinnati, Ohio  45249 at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Don's name to Crossroads Hospice.
