Donald Edward Spurlock

Donald Edward Spurlock who was born on May 5, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on March 30, 2015.  Don was the beloved husband for 39 years to Diane Ellis Spurlock and the cherished son of Rosalie Flack Spurlock of Marietta, Georgia  and the late Raymond Spurlock.  He is also survived by his sisters ; Janet Spurlock McCarter (Mike) of Roswell, Georgia and Cindy Spurlock Yowler (Jim) of West Chester, Ohio  as well as several nieces and nephews.  Don was a constant source of support for his community through his business which he founded in 1979  Spurlock Insurance and his numerous philanthropic endeavors as a proud member of his local Kiwanis Club and especially  his Masonic Lodge where he was a 32 Degree Master Mason as well as a member of the Scottish Rite and the Shriners one of his proudest accomplishments was that he was the Past Master Councillor of DeMolay for the state of Indiana. Don caught the political bug early as he grew up in Beech Grove Indiana where he was elected the President of the student body which continued as he graduated from the University of Miami in 1972 while the President of the Student Body and a proud member of the Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity.  After that Don continued to be heavily involved in politics as a member of the Republican Central Committee of Butler County Don was also involved in statewide politics as the Governor appointed him to serve on the Motor Vehicle Dealers Board of Ohio.  Friends are invited to gather with his family on Friday, April 3rd from 10-1, with services immediately afterwards, at Hodapp funeral home 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, Liberty Township, OH 45044.
