Donald Fobes

FOBES, Donald P., age 91 of Columbus, Ohio joined his wife Gertie of 47 years on April 5, 2014. He went peacefully in the arms of his loving caregiver, his daughter Norma. Brother of Harriett Thompson. Father of Ronald (Lori) Fobes, Norma (John) Sisson, Marty (Steve) Gilbert and Randy (Cindy) Fobes. Uncle of Sherri Beth (Randy) Tober, Doug (Karen) Thompson and name sake, Don Fobes. Grandfather of Nancy (Jeff) Heater, Kim (Jason) Thompson, Lori (Marques) Evans, Tristan Gilbert, Cory Gilbert, Brooke Fobes, Bretton Fobes and Martin Fobes. Great-grandfather of Kelsey and Mckenna Thompson. Don was a veteran of WWII, a graduate of Ohio University and a retired Insurance Adjuster from Fireman Fund Insurance Company. Don was a devoted husband, a loving father and a caring and giving friend to all he ever knew and met. Visitation and services will be held at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati-Columbus Rd. (Rt. 42), West Chester, Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Funeral service at the funeral home Friday at 9:30 a.m. There will be a Life Celebration for Don at Sisson Shores, 700 Shore Dr., Columbus, OH on April 26, 2014 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Come enjoy the company of Don’s family and friends.
