Preceeded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Everett Wayne Green, passed away on Sunday, February 19th at Brookdale Long Cove Point Assisted Living where she resided for the last year. Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Angeline Bowling, parents George Dewey Bethel and Sarah Addie Bethel; sister, Marjorie Bethel Novak, brother Edward Leroy Bethel; grandson, Jason Michael Lindholm and great grandson, Nicholas Alan Wik.

Survivors are daughter, Linda W. (Steven) Lindholm, Maineville, Ohio.  Grandchildren Reverend Brian (Jenny) Wik of Kempton, Indiana; David (Shannon) Wik of South Lebanon, Ohio; Julie (Joshua) Brandau of Maineville, Ohio; Eric (Jasmin) Lindholm of Loveland, Ohio; Jacob (Emily) Lindholm of Covington, Kentucky and Tara (McCoy) Lindholm of Brunswick, Ohio and 19 Great Grandchildren. In addition are her brothers Carl (Dorthy) Bethel of Cambridge, Ohio and Richard (Donna) Bethel of Cadiz, Ohio and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Born September 1, 1928 in Greentown, Ohio her family moved to Flushing, Ohio in Belmont County when she was quite young. She graduated from Flushing High School in 1946. After her marriage to Wayne Green in 1950 she moved to Columbia Station, southwest of Cleveland. She moved to Brook Park, Ohio in 1961 and lived there until she and Wayne moved to Maineville, Ohio in 2008 to be close to their daughter and family.

She had been a member of Rockhill Baptist church, Columbia Station Baptist Church, BrookPark Community Church and attended Hope Evangelical Church of Mason, Ohio. Most recently Dorothy attended the Rivers Crossing Community Church of Mason, Ohio.

She was a member of Al-Anon for more than 35 years. She lived her Twelve Step program faithfully and held many positions in local groups.

She was employed at Brookgate Lanes in the nursery caring for children as their parents bowled. Known as “Teacher”, she provided care for many children as she sang and played with them. She loved children and her home was always opened to the neighborhood children on Lockhaven Drive.

She was a devoted Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma to all of us. Many stories were told and songs were sung on her lap or at her feet. She will be missed.

Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, March 4th, 2017, at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd., West Chester, OH 45069 from 11AM until time of Memorial Service at 12 Noon.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 644 Linn St., Suite 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203.
