Dorothy Eleanor Slyby, lovingly known as Dottie, peacefully went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Hillsboro, Ohio, on March 30, 1938, to Margaret (McCoppin) and Winfred Main, Dottie grew up in the Marshall Community of Highland County. She attended both Marshall and Hillsboro Schools in Ohio. Dottie worked for many years as a telephone operator, a job she enjoyed and where she made lasting friendships. Dottie was the beloved wife of David Slyby for 64 years and devoted mother to David Michael (Kelly). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Jimmy and Maggie. Dottie was also a dear sister to Margaret Gene Davis, Dick Main (Judy), John Main (Gini), and Shirley Brammer (Greg), and was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Satterfield. A loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, Dottie’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Dottie was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and a long-time attender of Hope Church in Mason, Ohio, where she found a spiritual home and community. Her faith was central to her life, and she dedicated herself to serving others with kindness and love. She was passionate about the beauty of the world around her, especially the flowers at her home, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Dottie also had a special love for collecting lighthouses. We will always remember Dottie for her deep faith, unwavering devotion to her family, and the gentle way she touched the lives of everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who love her. Funeral Service will be held at Hope Church, 4934 Western Row Rd, Mason, OH 45040 on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11am.
