Dr. Ellen Kay Heinrichs Norby, MD. Devoted wife and beloved mother. Passed peacefully on Monday, October 18, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife of 36 years to Conrad Norby. The two were soul mates, and best friends. She was a loving, caring mother to their three children, Erin Lux, Michael Norby, and Adam Norby, as well as to her son-in-law, Jarrod Lux, and her daughter-in-law, Juliana (neé Nonay) Norby. The fifth of seven children, daughter of Marvin and Maxine Heinrichs. She received her medical doctorate from the University of Minnesota in 1987. Ellen happily devoted her life to pediatrics. For over thirty years, she tirelessly worked with Queen City Physicians to make sure the lives of her young patients carried on in happiness and health during many of the most important periods in their early lives. Ellen was a caretaker, a role she adopted both in and out of her line of work. She will be remembered for her intelligence, her selflessness, and her endless devotion to love, always putting others before herself, regardless of her own well-being. To the very end, even as she privately battled stage four cancer, she happily continued to work, still considering her young patients’ health and wellbeing to be of prime importance. She was the strongest woman anyone who knew her will ever know. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, baking, and music. She was greatly loved by all who knew her.
