ST. GEORGE, Dr. Elmer C. “Jack,” age 77, passed to a better place Monday, September 21, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret Mary “Peggy†(Rogers) and 6 adoring children; John, wife Holly (Akers) and grandchildren, Erin, Andrew, Shannon and Natalie; Mary, husband David Eslick and grandchildren, Brian, wife Kristina and great-grandchild Sophia, and Patrick; Chris, wife Jodi (Graham) and grandchildren, Becky, Tom, Julie, Peter, Megan, Chris and Joe; Eileen and husband Stevens Tucker; Reverend Peter St.George, pastor at St. Ignatius Catholic Church; and Sheila, husband Larry Gick, and grandchildren Elizabeth, Brigid, Matthew, and Christopher. Dr. St.George was a parishioner at St James of the Valley Catholic Church and retired in 1996 after 35 years in family medicine and the chairman of the Department of Family Practice at Bethesda Hospital, Oak Street. He graduated from St. Vincent Prep School in Latrobe, PA, Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH and St. Louis University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO. He served as a Captain and general surgeon in the United States Air Force, Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM. He is a Fellow in the American College of Family Physicians and a member of the American Medical Association. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 7401 Vine St., Carthage, OH. Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009 at St. James of the Valley Catholic Church, 411 Springfield Pike, Wyoming, OH.
