Edward Lawrence Neltner was born on January 2, 1962, spent his life in Finneytown, OH, and passed away on October 13, 2024 at his farm in Brookville, IN.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Kimberly Neltner (nee Hopkins), his three children, Michael (Sara), Christopher, and Rachel Neltner, two grandchildren Vivian and Judah Neltner, sisters Terry (Ted) Chapman and Cheryl (Jim) Kircher, brother Tom (Janet) Neltner, and his many extended nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Gene Neltner, mother Lois Neltner (nee Lonnemann), and sister Nancy Neltner.
Ed was a helper of people. He devoted the majority of his time to helping those around him build and repair their homes and properties. He strived to help anyone who needed him. He was a prominent parishioner and volunteer at St. Vivian’s parish in Finneytown, OH. When he wasn’t thus engaged he was rearing a small zoo of snakes, lizards, fish, dogs, and small mammals. He shared this love of animals with all around him, teaching about reptiles at St. Vivian School, volunteering at the Cincinnati Herpetological Society, and otherwise displaying them for all to see in his front yard. He was known for his sense of humor, pranks, and jokes. He enjoyed to make people laugh.
Ed loved nothing more than he loved his wife and family. He was the model of patience, integrity, and duty for his children. He was taken from those around him much too soon but is rejoicing in Heaven with God, his parents, and his sister.
Visitation will be held at Hodapp Funeral Home, 6041 Hamilton Avenue 45224, on Friday October 18th at 5PM until 8PM. Ed’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Vivian’s Church, 7600 Winton Road 45224, on Saturday October 19th at 10AM.
Donations may be made to The St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. Vivian.
