Liz Corns celebrated life in every possible way.  A lover of Christmas, she was the definition of holiday spirit.  She decked our lives with boughs of care and devotion.  She jingled with bells of joy wherever she went.  She was a cultivator of compassion and a giver of hugs and kisses.  Faith, family, and friends were the forefronts of her life.  She texted each family member and friend annual wishes of happy birthdays and anniversaries.  She never wasted an opportunity to wish someone well.  A baker of Christmas cookies, she was equal parts sugar and spice.  Her spirit was sweet, but her humor was full of spice.  She was hilarious!  She could get you laughing so hard, you would end up crying.  Crazy about crafts, she was sure to stop at every craft show she could find.  But she was the true crafter, the glue that held our family together.  If anyone could shop until they dropped, it was Liz!  Every year, on the day after Thanksgiving, she would drive her sleigh from store to store.  She spent so much time and money with the sole purpose of showering her family with gifts.  She would try so hard to pick the perfect present for each person.  She was so selfless that she probably never realized that her presence in our lives was the perfect present.  She was everything any of us ever needed or wanted.  While Liz spent most of her life putting others before herself, she finally took the time to focus on herself in the last few years of her life.  She embraced exercise and healthy eating, and, after losing an amazing amount of weight, she began to celebrate herself.  This year, Liz will get to spend her first Christmas in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  And that, family and friends, is something we all can celebrate!
