Elizabeth Anne (Betsy) Jackson (nee Folz) of Cincinnati passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the age of 86. Betsy was the beloved wife of 59 years of the late Donald Warner Jackson. In addition to Donald, Betsy is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Elizabeth Folz, and her siblings Raymond Folz, R. Allan Folz, and Jeanne Groom. Betsy is survived by her loving children David Jackson (Sue Smith), Peggy Nachtrab (Chris) and Jane Jackson; cherished grandchildren Becca, Maggie and David Nachtrab; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Betsy grew up on Edwood Ave. in College Hill and attended Mother of Mercy High School. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati where she was active in the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. At U.C., she majored in education and went on to teach the second grade. It was at U.C. where she met Don, her future husband, in the Rhine Room playing bridge. At the age of 23, Betsy embarked on an unforgettable trip throughout Europe. In 1962, Betsy and Don were married at St. Clare church in College Hill. After some time in College Hill and Dayton Ohio, the Jacksons settled in what would be their home for fifty years in Montgomery, in the cul-de-sac on Londonridge Ct. Betsy was active her whole life in tennis and golf and was an avid piano player. She loved playing bridge and catching up with her many lifelong friends. Music was her gift to her family. She loved sing-alongs and show tunes, especially. Betsy was also active in many church and civic organizations, especially at Good Shepherd Catholic parish, the Montgomery Woman’s Club, and P.E.O., a philanthropic educational organization. Betsy was a loving wife and mother; she was a great friend and neighbor and had a hilarious sense of humor. She remained close with her extended family her whole life. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Good Shepherd Catholic parish, 8815 East Kemper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249 from 8:45AM until 9:45AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the chapel. Please consider a gift in Betsy’s memory to the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired whose services were a tremendous help to her for many years.
