Ellen Constance Durso (AKA Sr. Ellen)

DURSO, Sr. Ellen C., SFP, passed to eternal life on August 27, 2015, at age 91. She lived a life dedicated to God for 70 years as a Franciscan Sister of the Poor. During those years she served the poor as a nurse and nursing supervisor in hospitals in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus, OH; Covington, KY; and Kansas City, KS. She is survived by her Sisters in Christ, the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carmela (Piccenti) and Pasquale Durso, her brother Carmen, and sisters Theresa Nolte, Jeanette Muckridge, Mary Jane Lamb, Marie Lamb, and Sr. Anna Rita Durso, SFP. Visitation at St. Clare Convent, 60 Compton Rd., Hartwell, on Monday, August 31, from 9:30 a.m. until Liturgy of Christian Burial in the convent chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the convent cemetery follows Mass.
