JENSEN, Emma A. (nee Fangman). Born December 30, 1913, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the age of 100 years and six months. She was preceded in death 30 years prior by her devoted husband of 42 years, Paul Jensen. Survived by many friends and family including her only daughter Linda Jensen, her son in law, David M. Gower, grandsons Paul M. Gower and Alexander M. Gower. Close family include her niece and dear companion Mary Lois Kaufmann, JoAnn Clifton and Pamela Adair, Kenneth Greenwell, & Wesley Fangman, their spouses, children and grandchildren who celebrated many birthdays and holidays with her. She was born in Lower Price Hill and attended school in Westwood. She moved to New York City to pursue a career in vocal music in the 1930’s. After marrying in 1942, she and her husband moved back to Cincinnati and settled in Monfort Heights. Emma was a dedicated homemaker, but also worked outside the home most notably as a pie maker at the Window Garden Tea Room for over 20 years. She was a performing member of the Westwood Music Club, was a solo artist in many churches including Monfort Heights United Methodist, and was a Girl Scout leader for Troop 483, and member of The Ohio Valley Quilters Guild. She supported The Cincinnati Symphony, the Cincinnati Summer Opera and loved WGUC. During her years as a widow, she traveled to many countries and continents with her great friend Bev Barkhau, of Palo Alto, California.
