Emma Kathleen Hoffmann

HOFFMANN, Emma Kathleen (nee Childs), age 95, of Liberty Twp., died Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Ohio Living Mt. Pleasant in Monroe, Ohio. She was born in Cooper Creek, Garrard County, Kentucky on April 7,1924, the daughter of Mamie (nee Flannery) and George Childs and step-daughter of William Courtney. On August 8, 1945, in Hamilton, she married Bernard M. Hoffmann who preceded her in death on April 7, 2007.
Emma was active in the St. Veronica Alter Rosary Society, enjoyed swimming and water aerobics at the local YMCA, gardening and traveling. Her happiest moments were being with family and friends.
Survivors include three sons, Bernard M. (Lori) Hoffmann Jr., D. Vincent (Carolyn) Hoffmann, Joseph P. (Gina) Hoffmann; four daughters, Cynthia Collins, Stephanie (Douglas) Entenman, Lisa (Stephen) Broaddusand, Suzanne (Neil) Hample; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Gene (Sandy) Hulshult. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Christopher Hoffmann in 1991; three brothers, Willard Childs, Marvin Childs, and Charles Childs.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows, 330 Lebanon St., Monroe, OH 45050 on Thursday, October 24th from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hamilton, Ohio. The family would like to especially thank Ohio Living Mt. Pleasant and Hospice of Dayton. Memorials are suggested to: Ohio Living Mt.
