AMON, Erla Mae (nee Bauman)–1931-2012–died peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the age of 81. Born in Mercer, PA to Margaret Young Bauman and Samuel Bauman, a 1949 graduate of Mercer High School, and a 1952 graduate of the Jameson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in New Castle, PA. Married in 1954 to Thomas E. Amon in Mercer, PA. Survived by 4 children, Debra Amon of Fairfield, Catherine (James) Blackburn of West Chester, Steven (Diane) Amon of Loveland, and Michael (Rebecca) Amon of Medina; Dear sister of Kenneth (Pat) Bauman of New Carlisle; Beloved grandmother of 9: Kelly, Erin, Hayley, Winston, Logan, Marshal, Jake, Taylor, and Emily; Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews; Former wife of Thomas Amon of Cincinnati; Member of Holtsinger Presbyterian Church and Friends of Takoda Trails. Worked for many years as an emergency room nurse at Geauga Community Hospital, and later in doctors’ offices as the best shot giver in Cincinnati. Loved by all and a friend to all. Her family and friends will miss her loving and giving spirit, quick wit, and wonderful laugh. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 29th, at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cinti-Columbus Rd., (Rt 42), West Chester, from 6 – 8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home. **ATTN**: PART OF ROUTE 42 IS CLOSED. When traveling north on Rt. 42, the road is open to the funeral home. When traveling south, turn right on Butler-Warren, left on Barret, left on Cox and left on Rt. 42.
