Esther Arlene Smith

Esther Arlene (nee Bernard), devoted wife of the late Loran Freeman “Smitty” Smith. Loving mother of Darla Susanne Gilmartin of Santa Monica, CA, Pamela Arlene Homan of Florence, KY, and Dennis Bernard Smith of Liberty Twp., OH. Beloved grandmother of Jenna Marie Gilmartin, Shaunna Leah Lowey, Jason Matthew, Jessica Lauren, Troy Bernard, and Grant Paul Smith. Great-grandmother of Gabriel Lowey, Colton Smith and Tenley Smith. Sister of J.R. Bernard, Adese Thomas, Cleeda Delffs, and the late W.H. Bernard and Buel Bernard. Arlene was a devout Christian and attended the Madeira Church of Christ until her failing health would not permit it. Passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013 at the age of 92. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to ALMS Foundation, 8695 Seward Rd., Fairfield, OH 45011. Private services will be held for the family.
