Born in Toledo, Ohio, at age 3, Bud moved with his family to Dearborn, Michigan then again to Detroit. During his sophomore year of high school, his family moved to Trotwood, Ohio where he graduated from Trotwood Madison High School in 1963.
Bud began his college education at Findlay College later transferring to the Design, Art, & Architecture program at the University of Cincinnati (UC), focusing on Industrial Design. During his first Co-Op position at RK Display, he was named vice president of the company.
While Bud was attending UC, he married Carolyn (Grant). Together they had a son, Buddy, born in 1965. Shortly afterward, they divorced.
In 1971, after “the best blind date”, Bud married Sue Ellen (Collins). The family, living in College Hill, grew in 1973 to include Noah.
Bud began working as construction display designer for Cincinnati Electronics. He earned the position of Director of Marketing Communications before his retirement in 1996.
Retirement couldn’t hold Bud, he began working with Contemporary Cabinetry as a Designer/Illustrator until his permanent retirement in 2011.
