Eva Bishop

March 20, 1936 — February 15, 2017

Eva "Bobbie" Frances Bishop passed away peacefully at her home in Wyoming, Ohio on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the age of 80. She was born on March 20, 1936, in Somerset, Kentucky, the eldest daughter of Tulla Tildon and Lina Elizabeth Phillips Haynes.

Bobbie attended Pulaski County High School in Somerset, Kentucky and married James Bishop on June 27, 1953 in Somerset, Kentucky. She later graduated in 1960 from Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio while attending night school. She was a member of Highland Avenue Baptist Church, Elmwood, Ohio, for more than 60 years.

She is survived by her husband James of 64 years. James has lovingly taken care of her for the past several years after she suffered a stroke causing short term memory loss. Also surviving are her daughters Catherine (Larry) Green of Centerville, Ohio and Amy (Shawn) Erb of Indianapolis, Indiana as well as grandchildren Hannah (Eric) Vande Griend of Denver, Colorado, and Cameron Nawaz of Los Angeles, California and step-grandchild Tim Green of Centerville, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tulla and Lina Haynes, her brothers George and Harold Gene Haynes, and her sisters Helen Dixon and Beulah Jane Brantley. Also surviving are her sisters Irene Kate Whitis of Sidney, Ohio and Della Elizabeth (Donald) Slater of Kokomo, Indiana as well as numerous niece and nephews.

Bobbie was a loving person that always cared more about her family than she did herself. From an early age, she helped take care of her siblings in Kentucky, later her two daughters, her mother-in- law, her grandchildren and her mother. She was an encourager and fierce advocate for all those she loved. We will sorely miss her soft touch when we are sick, words of wisdom pointing the way we should go, her sweet soprano voice singing songs of love and praise, and her enormous smile.

The Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Hodapp Funeral Home, 7401 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45216. The funeral service will be held also at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. followed by a burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246.
