Frances M. Doyle, 84, formerly of Erie, PA, died Friday, September 12 on the day that would have been the 55th anniversary of her wedding to the previously deceased Richard C. Doyle, also of Erie.

Frances was born on April 5, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA, went to Mercyhurst College, and was a teacher at Cathedral Preparatory School for 20 years.

Her welcoming spirit of kindness touched many lives and will be carried on by her family and friends. The door was always open at 633 Kahkwa and anywhere else that she lived.

She is survived by her children, Sheila Doyle of New York, NY, Maureen Bowling and her husband Philip of Indianapolis, IN, Richard Doyle and his wife Judith of Erie, PA, and Colleen McIntyre and her husband Bill of Mason, Ohio. Frances enjoyed her family, especially her 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Richard C. Doyle, her sister Cecelia Leonard, and her parents Rose Marie and Guy Miller.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Andrews Church, 1116 West 7th Street, Erie, PA on Friday September 19, 2014 at 11:00 am, with Monsignor William Biebel presiding.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
