BALLARD, Freeman L., husband of the late Barbara E. Ballard (nee Stonecypher), father of Ronnie L. Ballard and the late Sandra J. Kenny (Joe), grandfather of James D. Kenny passed away on September 15, 2016 at age 82. Freeman was a man who lived a full life. Born in Lincoln County, Kentucky to Kenley and Bessie May Ballard, he was raised on a farm along with his 5 sisters and 3 brothers, of whom only Vern Ballard of Cincinnati remains. After graduating high school and attending 2 years of college at Eastern Kentucky University, Freeman was drafted into the Army for 2 years before moving to Cincinnati to start a career and a family. He worked at Procter and Gamble for 32 years before retiring and pursuing his hobbies and travel. A man who never sat still and was always working on a new project, Freeman cared and provided for his family. He went on countless vacations and trips with them, taking long journeys across the country and making memories along the way. Freeman loved his family and made an impact on them continually. He showed great attention and love toward his only grandson and was always there to support and watch him, no matter the age or circumstance. He will be greatly missed and his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those close to him for the rest of their lives. Visitation and Funeral will both be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Hodapp Funeral Home, 8815 Cincinnati Columbus Rd. West Chester, Ohio 45069. Visitation hours will be from 9 – 10:30 am, with a short service starting thereafter around 10:30. Procession and burial will immediately follow at Crown Hill Memorial Cemetery, 11825 Pippin Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231.
