Gail Lenore Boggs died in Cincinnati on February 4, 2018. Gail was born in Toronto, Canada, to Robert and Doris McDowell on April 27, 1937. She graduated from Neville High School in Munroe, Louisiana, in 1954 and from Texas Women's University in 1958.  In 1972 she earned an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Miami University and in 1977 a Master’s Degree in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Cincinnati.

From 1977 to 1993 Gail worked as Head Nurse Adolescent Psychiatry, in Staff Development, and as a nurse in Psychiatric Emergency Service, all at University Hospital in Cincinnati.  She moved to Bangor, Maine, in 1993 to take the position of Program Manager of the Children's Program at Acadia Hospital.  In 2001 she retired and returned to Cincinnati to hobbies and enjoyment with her many friends, including her pets.  Gail loved art quilting and making quilting friends and travelling to wonderful places worldwide with good friends.  Gail is survived by her son Christopher Lee Boggs of North Carolina and by her granddaughter Kristen Audrey Boggs of North Carolina.  She is also survived by her brother Robert McDowell of Louisiana. She was predeceased by her parents and recently by her beloved and dedicated daughter-in-law, Peggie (Margaret) Boggs and by her son David Nelson Boggs both of Cincinnati.   "Family and friends made a rich and fulfilling life for which I am grateful."  (Gail) A memorial service for Gail will be held at St. John's Unitarian-Universalist Church, 320 Resor Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio on March 17, 2018. Gail asks that you perform an act of kindness and think of her and that you live with joy. In lieu of flowers the please make a donations to the National Kidney Foundation.
